FAQs
I see clients virtually across California and Massachusetts. For local San Diego clients, I have an office in Old Town for in person sessions. If phone is more accessible to you, I provide phone sessions when the other options aren’t available.
Where do you see clients?
1
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance for new clients. I am an out of network provider for most insurance plans. That means you are responsible for the full fee at the time of service. I can provide you a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
2
What is a superbill?
3
A superbill is an itemized receipt for services, which includes the information your insurance company needs to consider reimbursement for therapy.
Does online therapy work?
Yes! And it depends on your preference and circumstances. Online therapy works when you have a secure space with reliable wifi where you can feel open to talking freely. Online therapy offers convenience and accessibility and still provides the same benefit.
Some prefer in person because it feels easier to connect or because they’d rather keep therapy outside of their living space, while others feel more open to express themselves in the comfort of their own home.
For those local to San Diego, my office is located in Old Town with ample parking.

Do you offer a consultation?
Yes, I offer a free 30 min consultation. Finding a good fit therapist can be a process. In the consultation there will be time for questions, to share a bit about what you’re looking for and seeing if we would be a good fit to work together. I want you to get to the right fit therapist. If it’s not me, I will provide you with referrals so you can get closer to where you need to be.
5
How long will we work together?
6
The length of therapy looks different for each person. Shorter term therapy can support you during a difficult transition, or can focus on solving a particular problem. Longer term therapy can help you to understand yourself on a deeper level and shift long standing patterns. We make a plan together and check in periodically to make sure you are getting what you need out of our time together.
Are you going to tell me how to parent my child?
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and aims to find your inner wisdom, steadiness and curiosity so you can find solutions that work best for your family. That being said, some parents want more structure and direct guidance. That is why I created a 5 pillar parenting framework, Relational Resonance, that serves as a guide to strengthen the parent-child relationship and is designed to be tailored to each unique family system.
